Orlando date nights tend to default to dinner on Disney Springs or a theme park after dark. Both are fine. But some of the best dates here are the ones that feel like they couldn't happen anywhere else.
Here are the best date night ideas in Orlando, from cheap and easy to a little extra, with a few that work as day dates too.
Take a sunset or night airboat tour
The first one on the list is the one most people have never thought of. Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures in Kissimmee runs sunset and night airboat tours on top of its daytime rides. At sunset, the lake and cypress turn gold. At night, the guide spots alligators by the red reflection of their eyes in the spotlight.
It's a little bit thrilling, very Florida and a great story afterward. Pair it with dinner in Celebration or Kissimmee.
Walk Dazzling Nights at Leu Gardens
From November 20, 2026 through January 3, 2027, Harry P. Leu Gardens turns into Dazzling Nights, a walking path of light installations through the gardens, with a new 50-foot illuminated snowman and live music this year. Tickets start at $35 and are timed, starting at 5:30 PM. It's the most romantic holiday event in the city. More in our Christmas lights guide.
Paddle a swan boat on Lake Eola
Cheap, a little silly and surprisingly sweet. Swan boats at Lake Eola are $15 for 30 minutes, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 7 PM. Go in the late afternoon, then walk the lake as the lights come on and get dinner downtown or in Thornton Park.
Winter Park: boat tour, Park Avenue and dinner
The classic Orlando date. The Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour is a narrated hour through the chain of lakes and narrow canals, past old lakefront estates. Boats leave hourly from 10 AM to 4 PM from the dock at the end of East Morse Boulevard, first come, first served.
Take the 3 or 4 PM boat, then walk Park Avenue's shops and Central Park and stay for dinner. It's an easy afternoon that turns into a nice evening.
Dinner and a movie at the Enzian
The Enzian in Maitland is a nonprofit independent cinema where you order dinner and drinks to your seat. It shows indie, foreign and classic films, and its outdoor Eden Bar is a good spot for a drink before the show. A much better movie date than the multiplex.
Cuddle highland cows (a day date)
Hear me out. Mini Moo Land at Boggy Creek has a herd of highland cows you can pet, hand-feed and cuddle, and baby calves you can bottle-feed at 10 AM, 1 PM and 4 PM. It is extremely hard to be in a bad mood holding a bottle for a fluffy calf. It works especially well as an early date before an airboat ride, and the photos are great.
ICE! at Gaylord Palms
From November 13 to January 3, ICE! is a walk through ice sculptures in a room kept at 9°F, with two-story ice slides. Go late on a weeknight, then warm up with a drink in the resort's giant atrium. See our ICE! guide.
A show at the Dr. Phillips Center
Downtown's Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts hosts Broadway tours, concerts and comedy. Check the calendar, book dinner nearby on Orange Avenue and walk over.
A day at the springs
For a daytime date, drive 30 minutes north to Wekiwa Springs and rent a canoe or kayak on the Wekiwa River. Clear water, cypress and turtles, and the springs stay in the low 70s all year. Reservations are required; see our springs guide.
Tips for a better Orlando date night
- Book ahead for anything timed: Dazzling Nights, ICE!, night airboat tours and popular dinner spots on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Avoid I-4 between 4 and 7 PM. Pick a date near where you are.
- Weeknights are underrated. Everything on this list is less crowded Monday through Thursday.
- Bring a jacket November to March. Evenings can drop into the 50s. See our weather guide.
