A lot of people still call it the Orlando Eye. Today it's officially The Wheel at ICON Park, but it's the same 400-foot observation wheel on International Drive, and "Orlando Eye cost" and "Orlando Eye hours" are two of the fastest-rising searches about it. Here's what to know.

Orlando Eye vs The Wheel: same thing

The wheel opened in 2015 as the Orlando Eye and was renamed The Wheel at ICON Park a few years later, when the whole complex became ICON Park. Tickets, signs and booking sites may use either name.

How much does it cost?

As of October 2026, single tickets for The Wheel were listed from about $31 on booking sites, with combos that add SEA LIFE Orlando or Madame Tussauds next door. If you'll do more than one ICON Park attraction, a combo is almost always cheaper. See current prices for The Wheel.

How long is the ride?

A full rotation takes about 23 minutes. You ride in an enclosed, air-conditioned capsule that holds up to 15 people, so it's comfortable even in August.

Hours

ICON Park itself is open late with restaurants and bars, but The Wheel sets its own hours, usually from late morning into the evening. It also closes for annual maintenance at times, so check that it's running for your date before you buy a combo.

When to ride

  • Sunset is the best time. You get daylight views out to the theme parks and then the lights coming on across I-Drive.
  • After dark is a close second, with the city lit up.
  • Midday works if you're pairing it with SEA LIFE, but the views are flatter in harsh light.

Getting there and parking

ICON Park is at 8375 International Drive. Entry to the complex is free, and the ICON Park garage has free parking levels.

Is it worth it?

For first-time visitors, couples and anyone who wants the big-picture view of Orlando, yes, especially at sunset. It's a 30-minute stop, not a full day, so pair it with dinner on I-Drive or SEA LIFE Orlando. Our ICON Park guide covers everything else in the complex.
