International Drive, or "I-Drive," is the strip of hotels, restaurants and attractions between Universal and the Disney area. Most of Orlando's non-theme-park attractions are here, which makes it the easiest place to fill an off day. Here's what's worth your time and how to group it.
ICON Park
ICON Park is free to walk around and is the center of I-Drive. The ICON Park garage has free parking levels.
- The Wheel at ICON Park (the old Orlando Eye): about 23 minutes in an enclosed capsule. Best at sunset.
- SEA LIFE Orlando: an indoor aquarium with an ocean tunnel. One to two hours.
- Madame Tussauds Orlando: wax figures of stars and superheroes. About an hour.
Combo tickets for two or three of these usually cost less than separate tickets. Read the full ICON Park guide.
Indoor picks for hot or rainy days
- WonderWorks: the upside-down building at Pointe Orlando, with 100+ hands-on exhibits, laser tag and a ropes course. Plan three to four hours. Read the WonderWorks guide.
- Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition: 350+ real artifacts and costumed actors playing passengers. One to two hours.
- The Escape Game Orlando: eight themed 60-minute escape rooms. Great for groups and families with teens.
- Chocolate Kingdom: a 45-minute chocolate factory tour with tastings, just off I-Drive.
Rides and coasters
- Fun Spot America Orlando: coasters, go-karts and Gator Spot, off the north end of I-Drive. Orlando vs Kissimmee Fun Spot.
Dinner shows
- Pirates Dinner Adventure: a pirate ship show with acrobatics, just off I-Drive.
- Outta Control Magic Dinner Show: comedy and magic with unlimited pizza, inside WonderWorks.
- Speakeasy Murder Mystery: a 1920s whodunit dinner show at Teatro Martini, good for date night.
Compare Orlando's big dinner shows.
Sample I-Drive day
- Morning: Titanic or Chocolate Kingdom while you're fresh.
- Midday: WonderWorks or SEA LIFE when it's hottest.
- Late afternoon: an escape room or Madame Tussauds.
- Sunset: The Wheel at ICON Park.
- Dinner: a dinner show, or one of the ICON Park restaurants.
Tips
- Traffic is heavy in the evening, especially near the Convention Center. Park once and walk between nearby stops when you can.
- Book timed attractions first (escape rooms, dinner shows), then fit the walk-in ones around them.
- Want something outdoors? Real Florida is 30 minutes away. An airboat tour at Boggy Creek or highland cows at Mini Moo Land make a good half day.
